Summer Just Got More Adventurous for Camp Sagemont in Weston
Camp Sagemont is proud to introduce its new Adventure Camp program. Campers will participate in exciting adventure trips including canoeing, snorkeling, fishing, ropes training and team building.
Weston, FL, February 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Camp Sagemont, located on The Sagemont School Campus in Broward County is now entering its 14th fun-filled season with the honor of being voted Best Summer Camp in Weston by the Weston Gazette Reader’s Choice Awards. This year Camp Sagemont is introducing its new Adventure Camp, which will be offered to 5th-8th graders. Campers will partake in adventurous field trips such as canoeing, snorkeling, fishing, skate park, ropes courses, team building activities and other fun experiences.
Mike Crisona, leader of the adventure camp, explains, “My goal is for the campers to experience fun and stimulating outdoor activities that will instill in them a sense of self-confidence and leadership.” Crisona has been leading camp programs for the past eleven years. His experience ranges from supervising at sleep away camps and sports camps to leading teen travel programs exploring Europe and Israel.
Besides the traditional camp for PK3-3rd grade, Camp Sagemont is proud to bring back art camp and science camp. These camps, available for 3rd-8th graders, were introduced last year and were highly successful. Basic camp activities include arts and crafts, cheerleading, computers, cooking, dance, drama, karate, music, sports, swimming, video arcade, and science. Special events and field trips will coincide with different theme weeks such as Life’s a Luau Week, Paparazzi Week and Lost in Space Week. The most anticipated event is Color War, which splits the camp into two teams where they participate in a fun day of competition. Edwin Cruz, Camp Director, says, “Our goal at Camp Sagemont is to provide our campers with a safe, fun environment where they have the opportunity to express themselves and experience a variety of activities for a summer full of great memories.”
One of the most popular camps at Sagemont is Sports Camp, which is offered to 2nd-8th graders. Campers play a variety of different sports and enjoy various field trips throughout the summer such as Marlins games, bowling and water parks. Travel Camp is also available for 4th-8th graders.
The All American Basketball School will be offering its camp for the second year at The Sagemont Upper School Campus. Kids ages 5-14 can learn from accomplished players and coaches throughout the area. The camp meets in Sagemont’s state-of-the-art NBA quality gymnasium.
To provide a taste of what Camp Sagemont is like, the camp will host a Camp Reunion/Open House on Sunday February 28th from 1pm-4pm. There will be games, a bounce house, popcorn, sno-cones, campus tours and on-site registration. The early bird special is available until March 1st which offers a $100 discount on Camp if registered and paid in full by the deadline.
