Premier Apartment Advisors Team Joins Cornish & Carey
C&C has significantly expanded its multi-family investment services group by adding the brokerage team from Premier Apartment Advisors. Richard Knutson, John Leyvas, Jay Cross, Stephen Pagones, Mike Pagones and Anthony Pappageorge will be based in C&C’s Oakland office and Vince McCarrie will be based in C&C’s Santa Clara office. This team joins industry veteran Keith Suddjian, senior vice president in C&C’s Palo Alto office, who together comprise C&C’s Apartment Advisors.

Richard Knutson and John Leyvas co-founded Moison Invesment Company’s East Bay Group in 1997. The company became Premier Apartment Advisors in 2006. The Premier Apartment Advisor team is active in all nine Bay Area counties as well as the northern Central Valley and Sacramento. The team has a strong track record in servicing a wide variety of clients, from private equity clients to institutions, REITS, professional investors, advisors and developers. They have experience in selling all types of multi-family properties including senior housing, affordable housing and bulk condominium conversion sales.

Mr. Knutson began his real estate career with Coldwell Banker Commercial as an apartment investment specialist in 1982. During his 15-year tenure he earned “Top Rookie” and “Top Five” honors. He joined Moison Investment Company – East Bay Group as a partner in 1997.
Mr. Knutson has successfully closed nearly 200 sales transactions representing more than 10,000 units for a value in excess of $1 Billion. His expertise includes underwriting apartment investments, structuring financing, condominium conversions, tax-deferred exchanges and affordable housing transactions.
John Leyvas – Senior Vice President
In 2006, John Leyvas co-founded Premier Apartment Advisors, formerly the East Bay office of Moison Investment Company. He joined the Moison Investment Company in 1992 where he earned “Top Salesman” honors eight times. Prior to Moison, he was an investment broker with Grubb & Ellis Commercial where he earned the “Rookie of the Year” award, and was on the “Top Ten” List. Mr. Leyvas was a founding Board Member of the Northern California Apartment Council.
Mr. Leyvas has successfully closed transactions with sales valued in excess of $1 Billion. He specializes in analyzing apartment investments, condominium conversions, affordable housing tax-deferred exchanges market area economic analysis, buyer profile analysis and apartment forecasting.
Jay Cross – Vice President
Jay Cross has been a senior investment advisor with Premier Apartment Advisors since 2003. Previously, Mr. Cross held the position of Acquisitions Manager for Palo Alto-based Pacific Property Company where he was responsible for the acquisition, market repositioning, and subsequent disposition of San Francisco Bay Area apartment assets. He also served as Acquisitions Director for San Francisco-based SSR Realty Advisors (now BlackRock), targeting apartment investments in major West Coast markets on behalf of institutional clients and commingled funds. Mr. Cross is responsible for closing transactions on more than 4,100 units representing in excess of $500 Million.
