South Florida Case Management Network Selects South Florida Geriatric Care Manager as Case Manager of the Year
South Florida Case Management Network, a not for profit organization formed to promote the practice of case management, selected Amy Seigel, founder and Director of Advocare Elder Care Management, as Case Manager of the Year.
Palm Beach, FL, February 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- It is said that "The greatest compliment one can have is to be honored by your peers."
If so, Amy Seigel has reason to be proud. In their first meeting of 2010, South Florida Case Management Network, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the practice of Case Management, selected Ms. Seigel as South Florida Case Manager of the Year.
The field of geriatric care management is growing, and SFCMN's selection of Ms. Seigel, founder of Advocare Elder Care Management of South Florida, is indicative that of the growing recognition of Professional Geriatric Care Managers as an important component in the delivery of quality elder care.
Advocare's geriatric care services began in 2001 when Ms. Seigel began her private medical advocacy work. Born and raised in New York, Ms. Seigel found that she was receiving phone calls from extended family and friends around the country, asking for help when senior parents and grandparents became ill. As a rehab nurse with elder care expertise and knowledge of South Florida health care resources, she was able to intervene and get results.
She realized that, with her unique skills, she was able to help families get to best doctors, facilities, therapies and other elder care services in a timely manner. Her proactive style of diplomatic advocacy helped families to cut through the red tape of the care and recovery process. She found that she was not only able to help families save time and money, but her interventions also resulted in significantly more positive medical outcomes for clients.
With a mission of "advocacy for care," Ms. Seigel formed Advocare. Her passion began to attract a team of like-minded, credentialed professionals who shared her enthusiasm for assisting the ill and elderly and optimizing the care and recovery process. Today Advocare offers a wide range of geriatric care services ranging from light care monitoring and senior fitness programs to complex medical care management.
In accepting the award, Ms. Seigel said, "There comes a time when a son, daughter, or family member realizes that it's time to reach out for help for an elder loved one," Ms. Seigel said. "We are proud to be there as professionals at that moment to guide and take pressure off of the family."
