Omega Health Management Systems Launches Operations

Omega Health Management Systems has begun operations. It will help small medical practices eliminate paperwork, improve profits, and receive federal stimulus funds through implementation of the MyWay electronic health records (EHR) system and related value adding services.

Marina del Rey, CA, February 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Omega Health Management Services (OHMS) is proud to open its doors to serve the needs of smaller physicians’ practices throughout Southern California. There are countless challenges that are unique to this marketplace that are often neglected in favor of large practices, and OHMS intends to step in and fill this void.

OHMS is a licensed reseller of the Allscripts MyWay Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Developed specifically for the smaller practice, MyWay is one of the key players in this marketplace. The system “learns” the needs of each practice as it is used, and adapts itself to these needs. Allscripts guarantees that the system will meet the requirements of “meaningful use,” so the practice will be eligible to receive the stimulus monies of at least $44,000 per physician. In addition to supporting the successful implementation of MyWay, OHMS also offers practices the opportunity for practices to purchase computers and hardware at competitive prices, and offers other value adding services such as high speed scanning, server maintenance, and consulting.

The recent passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides significant opportunities to healthcare providers to receive financial incentives for implementing the usage of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. As stated by HITECH Answers, an independent panel of experts providing analysis of the HITECH Act, $19.2 billion “is intended to be used to increase the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) by physicians and hospitals.” Unfortunately, this opportunity also creates problems, particularly for the smaller practice – problems in the form of confusion and fear regarding ARRA and the need to install a new system. Through its Comprehensive Needs Analysis (CNA), OHMS consults with the medical practice, and advises physicians of the nuances of “meaningful use” and “CCHIT Certification.” The information about each practice is used by Omega to create an individual approach to receive the maximum benefits of EHR adoption with minimal impact on the practice’s operations. The CNA outline is developed at no obligation to the practice.
