Unbound Medicine Releases Relief Central™, a Free Mobile and Web Resource to Aid in Disaster Relief: Award-Winning Unbound™ Platform Delivers Answers to the Point of Need
Charlottesville, VA, February 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Unbound Medicine, a leader in knowledge management solutions for healthcare, today announced the release of Relief Central™, a free web and mobile resource that delivers reference information and news to relief workers, first responders, and others in disaster relief situations.
Relief Central has been designed by staff and friends of Unbound Medicine to provide timely answers to those who serve in disaster relief situations around the world. Users can search The World Factbook from the CIA for detailed information on over 250 countries and territories or review disaster assessment and response guidelines in The Field Operations Guide from the USAID. Relief News gives you up-to-the-minute RSS feeds from trusted government, non-profit, and international resources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Red Cross, ReliefWeb, and more. With Unbound Medicine's selected MEDLINE Journals users can link to the latest abstracts and articles in relevant scientific and medical literature.
“Relief Central is a volunteer initiative launched by Unbound employees to help rescue workers and medical teams in the field,” said Bill Detmer, MD, president of Unbound Medicine. “Our goal is to create an evolving repository of information that can provide up-to-date information to any location via the web or be downloaded to a mobile device.”
To build the library of free Relief Central resources, Unbound Medicine invites societies and commercial publishers who would like to donate appropriate content to contact them.
