New Book Explores How History Reveals that the Judeo-Christian Faith Played an Important Role in the Decisions of Some of the World’s Greatest Military Leaders

The Judeo-Christian Faith has played a much greater role in world military operations than most historians are willing to admit. This new book by Montecue J. Lowry explores how the faith of major military commanders has in many instances enabled them to think logically, make the right decision, and win a decisive battle.

Houston, TX, July 22, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Jesus Christ said: "…ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars… for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom…." This prophecy is still taking place. War and religion permeate the history of and the relations between most nations. Some wars are blatantly religious wars, some are political, and some are economical. Yet, all wars in some way involve the religious beliefs of the peoples involved. To be sure, the Faith of the military commanders involved in wars affects their decisions and the battles they fight. To think clearly and reason logically, a military commander must have an analytical mind devoid of preconceived notions. Prior to the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Jewish military commanders fought their battles based on the word of God as revealed to them through a Jewish priest. After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Christian Faith began to permeate the Roman Empire until it became accepted and infected with many pagan beliefs and customs. In its growth, the Roman Catholic Church adopted the Scholastic mode of study in which the thought process was directed toward a preconceived conclusion. Under the Scholastic mode of thinking, military commanders could not reason logically. The Reformation of the Judeo-Christian Faith initiated by Martin Luther loosed the mental chains of Scholasticism that bound the thought process and impeded unfettered reasoning. To be sure, there have been many great captains of history who did not believe in the Judeo-Christian Faith. "Great Captains of the Faith" portrays the lives and battles of ten great military commanders who did follow the Judeo-Christian Faith.
