Paul Mitchell the School Charity Fundraising Events
Larry King, Donny and Marie Osmond, and Leeza Gibbons Join Paul Mitchell the School Spokane to Raise Funds and Awareness.
Spokane, WA, February 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cosmetology students at Paul Mitchell the School Spokane will be part of the Paul Mitchell Schools seventh annual nationwide fundraising campaign. Each year, future professionals across the country spend the months of February through April raising money and awareness for a collection of charitable causes close to their hearts. The schools’ efforts over the last six years raised nearly $3.4 million via cut-a-thons, charitable fashion shows, and a host of other hands-on, grassroots “FUNraisers.” This year, the network’s goal is $1.2 million, and Paul Mitchell the School Spokane intends to raise $15,000.
Winn Claybaugh, Dean of the Paul Mitchell Schools, kicked off the campaign with cross-country conference calls for the entire network. Over 10,000 students and staff members from 100 Paul Mitchell Schools listened in as Larry King, Leeza Gibbons, Donny and Marie Osmond, and Paul Mitchell co-owners John Paul DeJoria and Angus Mitchell introduced this year’s sponsored organizations: the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, Food 4 Africa, and Children’s Miracle Network.
Upcoming events include a Run-a-Thon 2/17/09, Talent Show/Art Auction 2/27/09, a Pet Fashion Show 3/27/10, Cut-a-Thon 23/29/10, as well as ongoing bake sales, car washes, garage sales, etc. The FUNraiser kicks off with a charity fashion show on Saturday February 6, at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $5, and they will also be collecting items to benefit local charity, the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery (food, clothing, diapers, toys and other baby/toddler items). Details on other events to follow.

Our experienced staff members are specially trained to help future professionals explore all of their creative and professional possibilities.
Through our annual three-month fundraising campaign, Paul Mitchell Schools have raised and donated millions of dollars in support of many charitable causes. We’ve built two homes with Habitat for Humanity, fed thousands of African orphans, and supported the victims of AIDS, breast cancer, homelessness, abuse, and hundreds of other causes.

About the Supported Organizations:
The Larry King Cardiac Foundation provides funding for lifesaving treatment for individuals who, due to limited means or no insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need.
The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation educates, empowers, and energizes caregivers impacted by chronic illness by creating unique programming, providing universal access to resources, and fostering evidence-based behavioral research to elevate the national consciousness of caregiving. Leeza’s Place is the signature program of the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation.
Children's Miracle Network creates miracles by funding medical care, research, and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children each year. Countless individuals, organizations, and media partners unite with the 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities.
Food 4 Africa strives to supply at least one vitamin- and mineral-enriched meal each day to the children of South Africa, where the HIV/AIDS epidemic has left countless numbers of orphaned children and more than a million preschool children do not receive sufficient food.
The Adrew Gomez Dream Foundation helps disadvantaged or hard-hit cosmetologists and cosmetology-related enterprises. Funds have provided educational opportunities, hurricane relief, and support in the fights against breast cancer, domestic violence, and other destroyers of self-esteem.
