Verdurez Launches Off-Line Social Gatherings for Senior Citizens
Verdurez.com, the unique social networking website for senior Indians, has launched a new city-based off-line initiative which provides the elderly the opportunity to meet and make new friends.
Bombay, India, February 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The purpose of Verdurez Local Meet-Up (VLM) is to give its members the chance to meet fellow members and other seniors in their own city in a social gathering.
The drive kicked off in January with successful VLMs in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Madurai.
Chair of the Bangalore VLM described the event as a “worthwhile gathering” and one which “will give opportunity to members to seek advice on matters they might have or would face in the future”.
In Chennai, the VLM was held at Saranava Bhavan and a member said “it really was a very good experience to meet people from various fields and hope to have many more such meets”.
The Delhi VLM was expressed by its host as an “awesome experience... Each one of us conveyed through body language and spoken word that they find such meetings very elevating and refreshing.”
Verdurez intends to schedule these VLMs at regular frequency. Plans are already under way for the next Bangalore and Madurai get-togethers in March.
The gatherings can be of even a small group; the objective is life enriching experience and not head count.
Members have also expressed their wish to open these social gatherings to a wider audience. For instance, for its next gathering, Madurai Chair plans to “have more special invitees, friends and relatives who are also seniors, and see how it can become more useful.”
Other cities in India and abroad (for overseas based Indians) will be added in coming months.
This latest initiative from Verdurez adds to the broad social canvas the website offers to its senior members by way of blogs, discussions, articles, photos, forums, puzzles, polls and other networking features.
