This gives Ksplice Uptrack users the unprecedented ability to keep their servers patched, secure, and stable, while removing the need for downtime due to a server reboot. Typical kernel updates can still be applied via standard updating techniques, such as up2date, yum, etc. If a server is rebooted, the patches that have been applied via the file system then go into effect.
