Personal Trainer Val Fujii of Superwomen Boot Camp Reveals Key Strategies to Help You Stay Dedicated to Your Diet This Valentine’s Day
Folsom personal trainer and fitness boot camp instructor, Val Fujii, shares the key strategies to help you stay dedicated to your diet this Valentine’s Day.
Folsom, CA, February 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Local personal trainer and fitness expert Val Fujii knows that Valentines everywhere will be flocking to their favorite restaurants to celebrate the holiday of romance and love. But that doesn’t mean you have to abandon your good sense and willpower when it comes time to order off the menu.
“Many restaurants nowadays often flag items that are heart healthy or low in sodium, making the healthy choices more noticeable to the consumer”, Fujii says. Fujii goes on to say, “I highly recommend that when these choices are made available to you, that you choose one of them so that you can not only stay dedicated to your diet, but to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”
Here are some other strategies to keep in mind to help you stay dedicated to your diet:
1. Eat a small meal or a healthy snack an hour or so before you leave for the restaurant; this will help keep you strong when faced with a list of tempting food and wine choices.
2. Be picky - but polite - when ordering; don't be afraid to ask for the salad dressing on the side or for your fish to be broiled rather than fried, even if the menu doesn't list such options.
3. Don't continue to nibble on your leftovers while waiting for the server to take away your plate. Drape your napkin over those last few bites of dessert or move the bread basket to the far side of the table while you wait for your check.
One final tip for you is that if you do overindulge at dinner start off the next morning with a healthy bowl of high fiber cereal, and then come on out to join them for a great workout in a fun, motivating and supportive environment. Superwomen Boot Camp sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at our Folsom location, and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. at their new Sacramento location.
