Ramblers Invade Greasley Tearoom
Mintons Tea Room staff were run off their feet today as a group of 26 Nottinghamshire rambers all ordered simultaneously.
Nottingham, United Kingdom, October 28, 2006 --(PR.com)-- People everyday seek sustenance at Minton's Tea Room which is in the top of St. Mary's Church Hall and is clearly land marked by the "Minton's" sign on the B600 road, Moorgreen as well as the Church which is clearly visible.
The tea shop is very popular not only churchgoers (several of the staff sing in either the church worship group or choir) but also by local residents, friends and couples who visit for lunch from the surrounding area, members of rambling associations and people going out for a country walk, and anyone else who wants refreshment.
Hoards of ramblers today came in droves to Minton's Tea Room on the B600 road in Greasley running the kitchen and waiting staff of their feet in spite of heavy rain. The usual practice of serving a table at a time flew out the window as Roger and Judy busily prepared everyone’s drinks before starting to prepare food. Everyone was very patient and soon were snacking away on lemon meringue pies, chocolate cake, caramel slices and sandwiches.
Minton’s Tea Room is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm and carries an extensive menu of both cold and hot foods, desserts, and hot and cold drinks. Staff at the tearoom are very pleased to help with any enquiry. The owners are Roger and Judy Martin, a husband and wife team who freshly prepare all the dishes using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
The tea room also stocks a range of relaxing music CD's and tapes, handmade Birthday cards (Christmas cards currently in production), and home-made jams produced by a local jam maker using fresh ingredients and no artificial additives) you can take home with you.
The amble space available in the car park means you should always find a space even when there is a church service on and it's easy to find your way to the tearoom located at the top of the church hall at Greasley. Mintons Tea Room is clearly visible by the "Minton's" sign on the B600 road near Watnall.
Watnall is also the home of the MOT testing unit, as well as the local met office for Nottinghamshire.
