RFID Linen & Uniform Management System Installed by FOUNDATION LogicSystems at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver Just in Time for the Winter Olympics
FOUNDATION LogicSystems has installed their Linen & Uniform Management Software Systems at the new Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver using the New Fujitsu UHF RFID Technology. The Fairmont now has the technology in place to track over 35,000 linens, towels, tablecloths, bathrobes and uniforms. They can now reduce their labor costs by eliminating time consuming manual tasks and also reduce their investment in inventory because they will know where every item is at any given point in time.

The advancement in UHF tag technologies by Fujitsu Frontech has extended the tags read range from 12 inches to more than 6 feet with a substantially higher read rate and with greater accuracy. As a result, it is now possible to read the contents of a large laundry hamper without having to manually unload the hamper onto a tunnel reader only to reload the hamper on the other side. Therefore, soiled items no longer need to be handled manually – resulting in a substantial reduction in labor.
The Linen Manager Module is simple to implement, cost effective and an easy-to-use system for inventory management and tracking of linen, terry and banquet linen within the enterprise. Historically shrinkage, excess inventories, losses to vendors and untraceable damage has cost millions of dollars to property operators. With the new module, FOUNDATION LogicSystems has given operators the tools to track their linen and terry assets, instill accountability, track vendor performance, and optimize inventory levels resulting in huge cost savings.
