Looking for a Job in PR or Corporate Communications? Ragan Communications Offers Free Membership to Help You Stay in Touch
Ragan Communications offers free membership to out-of-work communicators.
Chicago, IL, February 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Corporate communicators and PR professionals who've lost their jobs during the recession are now entitled to free six-month memberships to Ragan Select, a popular information and community web site in the industry.
Mark Ragan, CEO of the Chicago-based Ragan Communications, made the announcement on Thursday and immediately began offering the free membership over Twitter. The offer ends on midnight Feb. 19.
"We serve an industry that has been hit hard by the recession," Ragan said Thursday. "Anything we can do to help our customers helps us in the long run."
Ragan Select membership was launched three years ago and features a daily news site, free webinars for members, and a database of more than 15,000 case studies and stories about best practices in the industry. Annual membership is $279.
The company has set up a web page to register for the free offer. It can be accessed at http://www.ragan.com/select-free-offer.
"Many of our customers are still looking for work---even a year after being laid off," Ragan said. "They need to stay in touch with industry trends and practices to stay competitive in the job market. Our hope is that Ragan Select will help them do that."
Ragan Communications was founded in 1968 by industry guru and former employee communicator Larry Ragan. It is the top-selling publisher of products for the PR and corporate communication industry. Its PR Daily web site, the MyRagan social network for communicators and the flagship site Ragan.com are visited by more than 200,000 communicators monthly.
The company is also known for its lineup of industry events and is considered the North America's leading training company for corporate communication, social media and public relations.
In recent years, Ragan's landmark events have been hosted by Coca-Cola, Microsoft, eBay, Southwest Airlines. In 2010, the company will sponsor major communication and social media events at NASDAQ, Kaiser-Permanente, SAS, Cisco Systems, the Phoenix Suns, the CME Group and General Motors.
