Bowie, MD, February 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Mind Wings Audio publishes 1-hour audio stories, selected from submissions. All story recordings are performed by professional narrators. 1-Hour audio story format was chosen to fit with the fast-paced lifestyles of today. With this release, Mind Wings Audio begins its second series of stories by an author. The series of Harry Landers detective stories by Jack Bates began in 2008 and has gained in popularity. The first story of "The Last Watcher" series by D. B. Clifton is a dark exploratory journey led by the author’s spellbinding descriptions and prose.
D.B. Clifton was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and currently lives just across the Ohio River in Covington, Kentucky. He is a US Postal Service retiree and veteran of the Vietnam War. Clifton felt the desire to tell stories from the moment his first grade teacher introduced him to Greek mythology. He attended Northern Kentucky University where two of his short stories appeared in Collage, the university’s literary review. Recently his work has appeared in the anthology Not from Around Here, Are You?
"The Last Watcher" is a 1-hour audio story read by Simon Prebble. Clifton introduces a young seminary student that is troubled in regard to his beloved mentor’s death and begins a journey to prove that everything in which he once believed is nothing but a fraud. His travels take him to the mountains of Bulgaria, where he’s forced to seek shelter in the cabin of a wild-eyed old hermit who claims to be a member of a secret order of monks, charged with the task of guarding the crypt of a captured demon. He has no interest in the hermit’s account until an intruder attacks. Clifton’s prose fits well with the setting of the story and the narrator’s tone and interpretation give the listener the sense of witnessing the actual events. The series will continue with future episodes of "The Last Watcher."
Simon Prebble, a British born performer of considerable talent and experience. He has built a successful career that spans the Atlantic. As one of Audiofile Magazine’s Golden Voices and Voices of the Century, he has received over 18 Earphone awards, 5 Listen Up awards and has been a finalist, eleven times, for the Audies. In 2005 he was named Narrator of the Year by Publisher’s Weekly.
“The Last Watcher” is available on CD for $5.49 and MP3 download for $4.99 at www.mindwingsaudio.com. Electronic copies can be purchased at various eBook locations on the web and are listed at the Mind Wings Audio website.
