RedVector Honors National Engineers Week with Engineers Without Borders Campaign
RedVector, the leader in online continuing education for design and construction professionals, and Engineers Without Borders USA (www.ewb-usa.org), a philanthropic organization that supports community-driven development programs worldwide through the design and implementation of sustainable engineering projects, have partnered to highlight the engineering profession in honor of National Engineers Week (February 14 – 20).
Tampa, FL, February 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- RedVector promotes engineering awareness in partnership with Engineers Without Borders-USA – a group that enriches poor rural communities through sustainable engineering.
Beginning February 14th, RedVector will spotlight one of EWB’s exciting people or domestic or international projects (or both) per day and distribute it via email and over various social media channels. Throughout Engineers Week, RedVector will donate $2 to Engineers Without Borders for every order placed – and provide clients with the opportunity to match or exceed that with a donation of their own. The goals are to raise awareness of the many facets of the engineering profession, emphasize the critical roles engineers play in improving lives and building a sustainable world, and provide much-needed funding to this rapidly growing volunteer enterprise.
“RedVector has a tradition of giving back to the community, and we wanted to show the impact of engineering in action and reaffirm our support for sustainable building initiatives,” said Victoria Zambito, Vice President of Marketing for RedVector. “Engineers Without Borders is a great fit, since it provides critical services to those in need, is committed to teaching sustainable practices, and underlines the interesting opportunities available to engineers.”
Each EWB story illuminates the interesting and diverse lives of those in the engineering field, and shows how the contributions of engineers range from supplying basic functions to orchestrating complex solutions in a crisis. There’s a shortage of engineering professionals, and even in hard times the demand for them far outweighs the supply.
RedVector site members will be able to read the stories in special emails or access them on the RedVector Facebook fan page or by following RedVector tweets.
