San Antonio, TX, February 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- “I'm very interested in the human eye. In my paintings the expression of the eyes is generally my main focus. It's through those eyes I seek to conjure the feelings my subject matter is depicting.”

Robin Moratti’s frequent travel to Bali Indonesia is the inspiration for her solo retrospective, ”Bom Olho”, which means the good eye (opposite of the evil eye). Impressed with Indonesia’s cultural use of rich colors, Moratti, creates a vivid surreal world using expressive hues paired with meaningful acronyms. In “Bom Olho”, Moratti’s creative works explore the relationships and insights that are within our selves as well as the world around us. Matisse, Gauguin, Picasso, and Salvador Dali are some of the artists that inspire her.

“Bom Olho” at 764 West is a retrospective exhibition that includes original paintings in oil pastel and acrylic as well as handmade .925 sterling silver jewelry with semi precious stones. Robin Moratti is recognized in California for her large figurative paintings and is internationally known for her jewelry company, Platinum Pearl. Moratti’s show and sale will continue through May 10, 2010. Moratti holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Design and Animation and attended Santa Monica College for Silversmith and Jewelry Making in California. She now resides in New Braunfels, Texas.

Josh Barrios will entertain at the reception on April 10 from 5 PM to 9 PM by playing classical flamenco on an electric acoustic guitar. Barrios, who composes and plays all genres of music, is a Junior at St. Anthony’s College Preparatory in San Antonio, Texas.

The Spirit of Sharing (S.O.S. Inc.) food bank in New Braunfels, Texas will receive a percentage of all proceeds from the show and sale. “To eliminate hunger….because no one should be hungry.”
