Gulf Coast School of Rock, Pensacola, FL, Holds Winter 2010 Student Show Featuring Guitar Students, Voice Students, Bass Students and Drum Students at Seville Quarter
Pensacola, FL, February 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Gulf Coast School of Rock (GCSOR), a unique performance-based music instruction school in Pensacola, Florida, held its Winter 2010 live student show at Lili Marlene’s in Seville Quarter, a popular nightclub in downtown Pensacola, on February 9. Eight GCSOR students, ranging in ages from 9 to adult, performed live in front of a packed house full of their friends and families. The show featured guitar students, bass students, drum students and voice students demonstrating what they have learned from months of individual music lessons with GCSOR’s professional instructors, who are also musicians who tour around the Southeast.
“With our unique approach to music instruction, students learn both individually and as part of a band,” explained Gulf Coast School of Rock founder Jim Brown, who also continues to perform live around the Southeast with his band, Big Jim Brown, and has produced four CDs of original music. “We hold live music shows in the Pensacola area several times a year so that our music students can put into practice what they have learned through their individual guitar, bass, drum or voice lessons, and enjoy the experience of playing live, onstage, in a real music venue, in front of their friends and family. Preparing for the show teaches them how to plan for a performance, choose songs, rehearse, perform onstage, set up and run the necessary equipment, and promote a show. Perhaps most importantly, they have fun in the process, and they gain self-confidence. I was really proud of how well all of our students did at the winter show, and look forward to our next performance in the spring.”
Gulf Coast School of Rock, 1010 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Florida, is open to music students of almost all ages--9 and up--and any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons are customized for each student’s skill and comfort level and are a fun mix of individual guidance and group playing. Students can join Gulf Coast School of Rock at any time. All music lessons are taught by professional musicians with years of performing experience, and include guitar lessons, bass lessons, drum lessons, and singing lessons. Additionally, the Pensacola music school features a recording studio onsite so that students can learn about music recording and produce their own CDs. Gulf Coast School of Rock founder Jim Brown is a professional touring musician with 15 years of experience in performing and teaching music. Music students from all over the Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama area are welcome, including Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Pace, Milton, Navarre, Atmore, Baldwin County, Escambia County, Santa Rosa County, and Okaloosa County. The environment at Gulf Coast School of Rock is relaxing and no-pressure; the emphasis is on enjoying oneself and playing for the pure pleasure of playing.
