Greg Constantine: Book Signing Event and Exhibit Held at TODA, NYC

New York, NY, February 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Michigan-based author and artist Greg Constantine will sign copies of his fourth book, “When Big Artists Were Little Kids,” at TODA on the 6th floor of 250 West Broadway on Sunday, March 21, at 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. A number of the original watercolor illustrations from the book will also be on exhibit.

The children’s book is Constantine’s attempt to recall his own beginnings as an artist by imagining how famous artists started out.

Constantine remembers filling all his school workbooks with drawings of sports, airplanes, cars and fighting soldiers. This became such a problem that pencils and paper were taken from him in order to focus attention on the necessary academic subjects.

Art not only survived in his life, but prospered in his pursuit to express his vision. Most artists have passed through a measure of this experience, ultimately making them stronger and more determined to follow their obsession.

About the Author

Greg Constantine was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to parents who emigrated from Romania. After earning degrees from Andrews University (BA) and Michigan State University (MFA), he taught painting, drawing and art history at Andrews University for 43 years.

His ambition to produce paintings, objects and drawings resulted in many exhibitions in Europe and the U.S., including 18 one-man shows in New York City.

Constantine has also authored and illustrated three other books; “Vincent van Gogh Visits New York,” “Leonardo Visits Los Angeles,” and “Picasso Visits Chicago”.
