Hired Guns Social Forces Among Top Addy Winners
Creative team Social Forces stands shoulder-to-shoulder with top-notch agency competition at AAF - Tampa Bay ADDY Awards.
Tampa, FL, February 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In its first 6 months in business, local new media-focused creative team Social Forces (http://www.socialforces.com) completed enough award-winning work to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Tampa Bay’s top advertising agencies — and earned the hardware to prove it.
At AAF-Tampa Bay’s ADDY Awards Gala, held at Tampa Theater on February 11, 2010, Social Forces received ADDYs for every entry the team submitted, including 3 Gold ADDYs, one Silver ADDY and one “Best of the Bay” award for a best-of-category entry. In doing so, the team stood among Tampa’s best. Only two firms — Pyper Paul + Kenney and Dunn & Co. — earned more Gold ADDYs than Social Forces.
Though the team found themselves in competition with the agency scene in this arena, the creative duo of Social Forces is primarily focused on working with local agencies as an agile, new media-savvy outsourcing partner. Launched in June of 2009 by two of the local industry’s most well-known up-and-comers Kate Whatley and Carl Vervisch, Social Forces was created around a partnership model.
“A lot of times, an agency will just want one aspect of what we do — freelance writing, design, or social media management, for instance,” says Vervisch, “and we’re happy to work that way, but where we really shine is as a team.” By offering a unique combination of advertising experience and digital marketing know-how, the team hopes to carve out a niche as “a new alternative to freelance.”
Whatley says of the team’s business model, “When one of the local agencies needs to quickly scale up for a big project — or hand a smaller one off to someone they can trust to do a great job — they can call on us.”
Now an award-winning team in their own right, the duo of Social Forces hopes that theirs is just the first of many successful partnerships they enter into in years to come.
