MBX Systems Achieves Record Revenues in 2009 for Server Appliance Manufacturing
Business acquisition drives 11th consecutive year of growth as appliance model continues to become widely adopted by software developers looking to simplify their application delivery.
Wauconda, IL, February 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- MBX Systems, a leading manufacturer of OEM appliance/dedicated computing and storage solutions, today announced record-setting annual revenues for fiscal year 2009 and, as a result, continued growth for the 11th consecutive year. The Company also posted record-setting quarterly revenues in Q4 2009.
New business acquisition was the primary source of revenue growth, representing approximately 7% of annual sales. During 2009 MBX added 72 design wins from new and existing customers, with 32 of the wins coming from companies who moved their run-rate business to MBX. In addition to gaining market share, this new business will accelerate revenue growth in 2010, forecasted to be 15 percent above 2009. MBX customer retention rates also exceeded expectations, despite the economic challenges.
Commenting on the previous year’s performance, Tom Crowley, CEO of MBX, says, “While we have consistently seen sales increase, we are extremely pleased with our 2009 results given that our core competitors could not sustain revenues. With our lean supply chain and consistent hardware pricing, we were able to stay competitive while expanding the services we provide to customers.”
Completing a facility expansion last spring to triple production capacity provided MBX with the infrastructure to handle the additional volume. Crowley adds, “We remain bullish on the appliance market and interest remains high, particularly in vertical markets such as security, medical, data and network monitoring and data storage, and emerging technologies such as cloud computing and virtualization. Our expansion can support a three-fold increase in manufacturing demand.”
Services introduced in 2009 focused on enabling customers to further reduce the overhead and expense of managing their software deployment. MBX introduced fully-configured racks and the ability to stock base units to convert to multiple platforms for accelerated deployment and installation. New logistics services included forward stocking for next flight out and shipping until midnight at the end of each month. The Company also introduced more than 10 new standard platforms, many of which are energy efficient platforms that meet standard domestic and international certification requirements. The new platforms can accommodate the full range of custom branding that MBX is recognized for.
MBX Systems was recently selected as a Hot Technology Companies Award finalist by Network Products Guide, based on the “4P” selection criteria – Products, People, Performance, and Potential.
MBX Systems will be exhibiting at RSA Conference 2010, March 1 -4, San Francisco Moscone Center, in booth #2525 and Interop Las Vegas, April 27-29, Mandalay Bay Convention Center in booth #1121.
