The Chicago Lighthouse Opens Low Vision Clinic in The Glen Town Center, Glenview, IL

Chicago, IL, February 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In an effort to expand their services to the northwest suburbs of Chicago, The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired opens its newest low vision clinic in Glenview, Illinois on Thursday, February 18, 2010. The opening of this clinic is the seventh satellite location for The Chicago Lighthouse with other clinics located at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, 675 N. St. Clair in Chicago, Calumet City, Elk Grove Village, Arlington Heights, Des Plaines, and Skokie.

Made possible through a partnership between The Chicago Lighthouse and Chicago Glaucoma Consultants, Dr. Steven Brown, M.D., F.A.C.S., Dr. Madhu Gorla, M.D. and Dr. Lisa Young, O.D., the Glenview location will serve the area’s low vision patients and provide convenient access to Lighthouse services.“We are delighted to announce the establishment of our new Glenview clinic and are thrilled to be partnering with these three outstanding doctors,” said Dr. Kara Crumbliss, director of low vision services at The Chicago Lighthouse. “They should be saluted for recognizing the needs of the patients in their practice and community who suffer from vision loss.”

Officially named the Dr. Alfred A. Rosenbloom Jr. Low Vision Rehabilitation Service, the Lighthouse main clinic, located at 1850 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Chicago, IL, has been a leader in low vision since its opening in 1954. Today, the clinic offers comprehensive low vision examinations, specialized diagnostic and research, psychological support as well as in-office and in-home occupational therapy services.
