WGSN to Present Buyers Guide to the Autumn/Winter 2010/11 Season at London Fashion Week
London, United Kingdom, February 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- WGSN the global leader in trend forecasting, design resources, strategic and retail analysis is to present a trend forecast and key item analysis for Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2010/11 at London Fashion Week on Monday 22nd February 2010 at 4:00pm.
Juliet Warkentin, WGSN’s Global Content Director will highlight key styling, colour, silhouette and product details to global buyers, designers and trade press which will provide an essential insight into the looks that frame the season and become retail favourites.
The macro trend directions are a result of WGSN’s expert team of fashion, consumer, product and retail analyst’s research into emerging trends approximately 24-months before they are seen in mass market and popular culture.
WGSN has a long standing precedence of predicting key items and looks that will translate into commercial best-sellers, notably the Warrior Goddess look that was predicted in 2007 by WGSN trend experts. “The Warrior Goddess was seen heavily on last season’s international catwalks in February 2009, particularly at Balmain Autumn/Winter 2009. The look had great retail success on the high street and for celebrity styling in September 2009 onwards, just look at Kate Moss and Rihanna for examples of this,” says Francesca Muston, WGSN Senior Editor.
WGSN launches three macro trend directions per season to guide product and design ideas in line with upcoming consumer trends. “For WGSN this season, the design ethos is all about Connection, for autumn/winter 2010/11 we are starting a tradition. In addition to our macro trends we are introducing one overarching message that we believe will define concept and product development for the next year” explains Juliet Warkentin, Global Content Director at WGSN.
She continues “We’ve called the theme Connection and we believe it is multidimensional, flexible and relevant to every design conversation you will have in the next 12 months.”
WGSN will also provide a buyers guide to the exhibition, highlighting on-trend product for Autumn/Winter that can be sourced at the event.
WGSN joins the BFC Digital Space at Somerset House, the new initiative bringing together live streamed fashion shows and a selection of digitally presented fashion films created by some of London’s most innovative designers.
