Customers See Innovation in Action at the Lavendon Academy

Lutterworth, United Kingdom, February 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Lavendon Academy opened its doors this week to show customers a new range of courses designed to set the highest standards in training.

The award-winning Centre trains more powered access operators than any other training centre in Europe. From next month the Lavendon Academy will be offering courses for a range of other needs, including manual handling, Health & Safety and First Aid.

Lavendon Access Services showcased the new courses during an open day for customers at the Lavendon Academy in Lutterworth, Leicestershire on Wednesday (February 17).

During the open day, clients were given "taster sessions" in some of the new courses. They were also given a demonstration of the new powered version of the Power Tower Nano lift.

The Lavendon Academy is the market leader in being able to offer external clients Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) courses accredited by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAC) alongside other important skills training.

In another powered access industry first, the Lavendon Academy is offering a full schedule of courses over the year to help clients plan their training more effectively.

Hayley Holloway, the UK Training Director for Lavendon Access Services, said “As the market leader in the powered access industry we know that we have a responsibility to ensure our customers receive the highest standard of training and to lead the industry in designing solutions that enhance and promote safe working at height. The wealth of training experience we have in the Academy means we can also support our customers in other areas of employee development, we believe this extended capability positions us as a training partner of choice.”

Louise Powell, the Lavendon Access Services Training Manager, said: “We want to be a one-stop shop for the training needs of our clients. The new courses are open to all companies, not just powered access users. Many of the courses have been developed in-house and have been highly effective so we want to offer them externally.

“It’s a way of sharing our proven expertise and adding value to the service we offer our clients. If these courses prove popular we will add to them in the coming months with more training topics such as: management development, sales and customer service.”

Mark Robinson, the Lavendon Access Services Technical Training Manager, said: “This is absolutely fantastic. We’re entering a whole new era of training for the access hire industry. This is a much more joined up approach to training which will make it more effective for our customers.

“By having all these inter-related courses under one roof we ensure we understand precisely what our customers need and then make sure it is applied across the range of courses we provide. It’s very exciting.”
