Nashville, TN, February 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Soul Lounge USA presents a History-Making night of Soul music with Grammy Award Winning PJ Morton & Grammy-Award Winning Tommy Sims on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at BB Kings located at 152 North 2nd Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee at 8pm.
Soul Lounge USA has impacted the soul music scene in Nashville and Memphis since 2004 by highlighting quality soul and gospel artists through live events. Soul Lounge is based in Nashville, Tennessee, where it hosts its weekly event on Sunday nights at BB Kings in the "Soul Lounge" Room downstairs.
PJ Morton, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, most often describes his music as “feel good music that lyrically tells stories about life and love… music that makes your heart think. He coins his style of music, ‘soulful pop’.” This 27-year old musical prodigy is indubitably a “true” seasoned musician who has garnered a reputation for writing and producing warm, heart-felt, and infectious songs that engage the heart. His humble, yet aggressive spirit, along with his prolific musical talents has afforded him with many opportunities to “fall” comfortably into the music industry.
PJ's hard work and dedication to his craft is gaining him national and international notoriety in the music industry. PJ is a Grammy-award winning writer and producer who can be cited for writing and producing for a wide array of artists. His creative prowess allows him to cross all genres of music. Tommy Sims is a renowned bassist, songwriter, producer and bandleader. From 1987 to 1989 he was the bassist of the popular Christian rock band White Heart which he left to become a studio musician and producer. During 1992-1993 he played bass on the Bruce Springsteen and the "Other Band" Tour. He is also a songwriter, who wrote Eric Clapton's "Change the World" which won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1997; other songs of his have been recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Garth Brooks, Cher, BlackStreet, Toni Braxton and BabyFace among others. He is also a record producer, who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Michael Bolton, Amy Grant, Kelly Clarkson, Cece Winans, Israel, BlackStreet, The Neville Brothers, Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child) and others.
