New Hempstead, NY, February 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Challahnmore.com will now be selling "Mini-Seudah" Shelach Manos packages through their web page http://challahnmore.com/purim.htm.
The challahnmore "min-Seudah" Shelach Manos package consists of two freshly baked small challahs, a small bottle of grape juice and a variety of hamantashen (three cornered Purim pastries) for desert. The contents can be used at the recipient's Purim Seudah (festive meal.) They will come in beautiful Purim packaging. Customers can order the packages directly through the web site or if they prefer they can email a complete list of people that they would like to send Shelach Manos to.
About Purim And Shelach Manos
After the destruction of the First Temple, the Jewish People were under the rule of the Persian Empire. The King of the empire, Aheshverosh had a vizier named Haman who convinced the king to pass a decree to exterminate the Jews. Through a series of "coincidences," Esther a Jewess, became the Queen and Mordechai the Jew became a trusted advisor of the king. They were able to reverse the decree, saving the lives of all the Jews. To commemorate this miracle, the sages instituted a yearly holiday, Purim. It celebrates the hand of G-d in all that happens through acts of kindness with our family, the poor and everyone. Traditionally on that day we read the Megillas Esther (story of Purim), give gifts to the poor and enjoy a festive meal. "Shelach Manos" gifts are distributed to our friends, neighbors and "friends to be". Shelach Manos consists of at least two ready to eat foods that will preferably be eaten at the festive Purim meal.
