ZeMis Launches Facebook Fan Page "Promote Your Country" Campaign
In line with ZeMis’ primary mission of spreading cultural awareness, the lifestyle accessories store is pleased to announce the launch of its Facebook Fan Page Global Rally campaign exclusively through its Facebook Fan Page located at www.facebook.com/zemisfans. This "Promote Your Country" campaign is open to anybody with a Facebook account who can simply sign up to become a ZeMis fan and suggest to his/her friends to become a fan.
New York, NY, February 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- ZeMis, which recently launched its Facebook fan page a few months ago, aims to generate a huge and diverse fan base from over a hundred countries. ZeMis has site visitors from over 100 countries and 1000 cities. ZeMis hopes to spawn some publicity similar to the "New 7 Wonders of the World" campaign of the New7Wonders foundation, but in a much smaller scale.
Lindy Castillo, ZeMis’ founder explains, “The goal of this Facebook Fan page campaign is to create awareness for the site to a global audience. It is not a popularity survey/competition of what is the "best country" nor do we allow multiple entries per person. There are no votes to be cast. By these virtues alone, we can’t expect to even come close to the publicity generated when the New 7 Wonders of the World was launched.” Castillo adds further, “If we could just create a truly global community within the confines of the Facebook fan page and engage in discourse on traditions, religions, cultural quirks or tourist destinations, we would have achieved our goal. In concrete terms, we hope to reach a minimum of 10,000 fan base from 100 countries across 6 continents. By contrast, the New 7 Wonders of the World bred what a lot of people in media considered as the largest poll in world history with over 100 million votes cast. Many people submitted entries multiple times and covered a period of more than a year. Its next contest of 7 Natural Wonders is expected to generate 1 billion votes (not voters) over a few years.”
While ZeMis specializes in selling exquisite designer accessories artfully crafted by skilled artisans, the world culture store also sells a wide variety of products that promote different cultures of the world. Lindy Castillo, ZeMis’ founder asserts, “It is the primary mission of ZeMis to instill open-heartedness towards accepting and understanding various cultures and religions. Selling products that discuss or display these issues is a good beginning to achieve this goal.” ZeMis sells world music, foreign language film DVD’s and home accessories sourced from across the globe.
For its Spring/Summer collection, ZeMis worked around the theme of "Wonders of the World". ZeMis came up with its owns 7 Wonders list to draw inspiration from for its fabulous Spring collection of neckpieces; namely, Acropolis, Great Pyramid of Giza, Great Barrier Reef, Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, Taj Mahal and Serengeti. The concept of ZeMis was germinated more than a decade ago when e-commerce was just about to explode. Its founder, Lindy Castillo, is an avid traveler and serious shopaholic who genuinely enjoy bringing home gifts from her exotic trails to family and dear friends. At that time, she had already set up an internet marketing company and was heavily entrenched in her VC firm. She put this project on hold but her passion to spread cultural awareness and encourage world travel never wore off. Finally in late 2008, she launched her online store and never looked back.
ZeMis utilizes Amazon's e-commerce technology in order to provide ZeMis guests a safe, secure, and convenient online shopping experience. Transaction processing for ZeMis is handled by Amazon so buyers can use their Amazon.com account to order and checkout.
