Fresno, CA, August 01, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Trained instructors will teach children how to avoid being victimized, how to be confident and say NO!, and other vital safety information, all in a fun and non-threatening environment. These seminars are not about promoting fear, but rather promoting confidence and personal safety.
Child Safety Day
Friday August 12th, 2005
Information:
There will be over 55,000 non-family abductions in the U.S. this year. One in five girls and one in ten boys will be sexually abused before they reach adulthood. In response to these staggering statistics, The Little Gym, located at 9525 N. Sommerville Dr. #109 in Fresno, CA, will be hosting a child safety day for children and their parents. There will be seminars offered at 5:00 pm and 6:45 pm. Both seminars will be taught by Dennis Nebeker, owner of Safe Kids of Central California and an authorized instructor for the Safety N.E.T. Kids Program. The class is designed for children ages 4-11 to be both fun and educational.
The Safety N.E.T. Kids class is endorsed by the Amber Alert System and is designed to teach children and their parent’s effective safety habits for today’s world. N.E.T. stands for “No Easy Targets” and approaches subjects like no other program and empowers children by providing simple, practical and effective responses to possible threats. Children learn how to recognize common ploys and dangerous situations, thereby averting danger and guarding their safety.
Second to education is the need for parents to be properly prepared to be able to act quickly and decisively if their child ever gets lost or goes missing. The first two hours of a missing person are most important and being prepared to respond quickly increases the chances of finding a missing child immeasurably. The Safe Kids Card CD contains all of the information that law enforcement officers or medical personnel would need in an emergency. At the conclusion of the class, the children will be weighed, measured, photographed and fingerprinted so that Safe Kids Card CD identification cards can be made.
The class will last approximately 60 minutes and includes interactive lessons that parents and children can do together. Cost for this class is $25 per child and includes a Safe Kids Card ($15.00 value) CD.
