Eeonyx Corporation Breakthroughs in Static Free Anti-Bacterial Fabric

Pinole, CA, February 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Eeonyx Corporation today announced the development and availability of specialty engineered conductive fabrics with anti-bacterial properties for commercial and industrial markets. Previous Eeonyx developments include engineered conductive fabrics, sold under the EeonTex™ name, for anti-static applications, such as in electronic industry clean rooms and engineered conductive fabrics with radar absorbing properties for military uses involving stealth requirements. Eeonyx conductive fabrics are also used as a pressure-sensitive medium in various applications in the sports and medical industry.

The latest Eeonyx innovation, incorporating anti-bacterial properties to fabric, is aimed at extending the capabilities of their existing line of ESD (electro-static dissipation) fabrics. The Eeonyx ESD fabrics offer a uniform and continuous nano-scale polymeric ESD coating on any fibrous surface.

In contrast, traditional clean room products achieved ESD properties using 1% carbon black coated yarn. This yielded fabric with discontinuous hot/cold spots resulting in undesirable static build up and particle contamination. The new EeonTex™ product is free of carbon particle contamination and eliminates hot/cold spots on fabric surfaces.

Now, in a new development, Eeonyx has extended the performance of their ESD conductive fabric by incorporating bactericide properties. The new anti-bacterial ESD fabrics will be used in environments such as a hospital operating theater, where a combination of cleanliness and static free environment is at a premium. These new fabrics have proven very effective antimicrobial performance against various pathogen bacteria such as S.Aureus, P.Aeruginosa, E.Coli, C.Difficile, and others. In addition, Eeonyx translucent ESD/antimicrobial coatings pass the important forty (40) industrial laundry cycles requirement.

The newly developed Eeonyx anti-bacterial coating technology also may be applied to porous substrates other than fabric, including foam, felt, Velcro, etc.
