Bayard Magazine Group Announces Shift in Advertising Strategy
Catholic Publishing Veteran Michelle Kopfmann Leads New Initiative
New London, CT, February 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In a move signaling the company's intent to increase development of integrated marketing efforts across multiple magazines in print and online, Bayard Magazine Group has created a new advertising initiative to be headed by industry veteran Michelle Kopfmann (right). This move is a significant shift for the company after many years of combined in-house and outsourced advertising sales services.
"To accommodate the changing needs of our advertisers, it has become increasingly clear that we needed to create a new marketing and advertising strategy that streamlines our work with our advertising partners while looking for opportunities to add increased value," said Bret D. Thomas, president and CEO of Bayard, Inc. "Michelle Kopfmann has longstanding relationships with the Catholic advertising community after her many years at the National Catholic Register, and we are excited to welcome her into the Bayard family of magazines."
Advertising sales for the company's flagship publication Catholic Digest have been managed by Rickert Media in Minneapolis for almost twenty years. Limited advertising in other Bayard publications such as God's Word Today, Today's Parish and Religion Teacher's Journal has been managed by Bayard staffers. CEO Thomas affirmed, "We have always valued Rickert Media and how they've represented Catholic Digest to the advertising community." Thomas went on to say, "This decision is not a reflection of our discontent with Rickert Media in any way but does reflect a new strategic direction for the magazine group."
Bayard and Rickert Media have adopted a transition plan for Catholic Digest advertisers that will make the changeover as smooth as possible. Kopfmann will initially focus on Bayard's other magazines and all websites until she assumes responsibility for Catholic Digest print advertisers later in the year. She will be working from the company's New London office. For additional information, Michelle Kopfmann can be reached at 877.725.7758.
