Downtown Street Jam Returns with Irish Bands and Rock 'n Roll Recording Artist - "Smile Empty Soul"
Downtown Street Jam is a free outdoor community event that has become a signature concert series in downtown Riverside.
Riverside, CA, February 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dubbed—“biggest outdoor musical event since the Orange Blossom Festival” by The Press-Enterprise, Downtown Street Jam is an award winning concert series that was launched in April 2009 and has since become one of the most anticipated events in Riverside. A broad range of musical talents have graced the stage of Downtown Street Jam drawing thousands of music lovers from near and far to enjoy this free community event.
The next event takes place Saturday, March 13 from 2 to 9 p.m. The outdoor mobile stage, at the intersection of Orange and Ninth streets gives the audience a front row seat to top rate entertainment right in the heart of downtown Riverside. This concert is free and open to the public and attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair and arrive early to secure a good spot.
In celebration of St. Patty’s Day, two local Irish bands will perform. The Leperkhanz will hit the stage from 3 to 4:30 p.m., followed by California Celts from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Adorned in traditional Irish kilts, this is a unique group that pays homage to its Scotch-Irish heritage. They are noted for being pioneers of a new genre of music described as, “Celtic Ska,” due to their music being a fushion of Reggae, Bluegrass, Mexicano and Rock.
The featured performers are alternative/modern rock band and recording artist, "Smile Empty Soul" who will hit the stage at 7 p.m. This young trio band hails from Santa Clarita where they first got together while still in High School in the early 2003. Their first self-titled album with their smash single, “Bottom of a Bottle,” reached the top 100’s on the music charts and received gold status with over 500,000 units sold. Their third and latest album titled, "Conciousness" is the first release for a new joint partnership between independent record label F.O.F. and EMI Music Group. The band members are guitarist and lead vocalist Sean Danielsen, bassist Ryan Martin, and Jake Kilmer on drums. Danielsen is also the bands principal songwriter whose lyrics have been described by critics and fans as edgy but raw. One music review say’s about their latest project that Smile Empty Soul stays true to its style on Consciousness, which features raw vocals, shredding electric guitar, and explosive percussion. Another music critic states that people of all ages can listen and find something good out of it.
Radio station X103.9 has partnered with Downtown Street Jam organizers, and their street team and radio personalities will be at the venue doing promotional giveaways, live remotes, games and more.
