International Academy of Design & Technology Detroit to Showcase Student Designers at Annual IMAGINE Fashion Show
Fashion design students to display their lines at upcoming fashion show
Detroit, MI, February 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT- Detroit), will host their 2010 IMAGINE Fashion Show, sponsored by Neenah Paper, Ambassador Books and Target Direct Marketing, at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, April 28, at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 p.m.) IMAGINE will feature student designer collections with entertainment by 50s Motown group, “The Contours, featuring Sylvester Potts.” Master of Ceremonies, Charles Pugh, president of Detroit City Council and former WJBK-TV news anchor, will welcome guests during an evening of fashion and fun.
Now in its sixth year, IMAGINE will feature designs within eight different categories from more than 30 graduate level students in the bachelor of fine arts in fashion design program. Categories include:
- Paper Designs
- Art to Wear
- Detroit Inspired
- Red Dress
- Sportswear
- Little Black Dress
- After Five
- Alumni
“We’re thrilled to showcase Detroit and Metro Detroit’s talented student fashion designers,” said Julie Patterson, fashion design program chair at the IADT-Detroit. “Our students work extremely hard year-round to prepare for this special event.”
Tickets for a night of fashion and entertainment are $10 (general admission) or $20 (reserved seating) and can be purchased at the Fox Theatre Box Office, Joe Louis Arena, Hockeytown Authentics-Troy, online at www.Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Southeast Michigan.
