The Morton Grove Foundation's “A Taste of Home” Will Banish Winter Blues

The Morton Grove Foundation will host this year’s "Taste of Morton Grove" on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the White Eagle Banquets, 6845 Milwaukee, Niles, Illinois. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The Taste of Morton Grove is a popular annual event which features samples of cuisine served by many of the area’s finest restaurants, live and silent auctions, and raffles. Proceeds from the Taste are contributed to charitable organizations that directly benefit Morton Grove and the surrounding community.

Morton Grove, IL, February 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Does the thought of another overcast, snowy day leave you with the winter blues? A sure antidote for cabin fever is waiting just around the corner. Surround yourself in warmth at this year’s Taste of Morton Grove – “A Taste of Home”.

The Morton Grove Foundation will host this year’s event on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant, 6845 Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, Illinois. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $30 (pre-sale price), or $40 at the door on the night of the event. Tickets may be purchased at many locations, including Morton Grove Village Hall, Century-21 Marino, and Inland Bank.

The Taste of Morton Grove is a popular annual event which features samples of cuisine served by many of the area’s finest restaurants, live and silent auctions, and raffles. Proceeds from the Taste are contributed to charitable organizations that directly benefit Morton Grove and the surrounding community.

This is the twenty-second year that local restaurants will participate in the fundraiser. Featured restaurants and organizations already scheduled to participate at “A Taste of Home” include: Catered by Design; China Chef; Dairy Queen; El Sol; Giordano’s; Graziano’s; Gulliver’s; Kappy’s Restaurant; Maier’s Bakery; Maggiano’s; Melting Pot; Orchard Village; Pizano’s; Wa-Pa-Ghetti’s; The White Eagle; and the Morton Grove Fire Department.

If you can’t make it to the Taste of Morton Grove, please consider purchasing a raffle ticket for $25. First prize is $4,000; second prize is $1,000, and third prize is $500.

The Foundation plans to donate over $40,000 from this year’s Taste to the following local charities and organizations: Association of Horizon; Community Nutrition Network; For Autistic Kids Foundation; Foundation for Nager & Miller Syndrome; Friends of the Morton Grove Forest Preserves; Have Dreams; Leukemia Research Foundation (Davidson-Brin Chapter); Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation; Maine Center; Misericordia; Morton Grove Baseball & Softball Association; Morton Grove Days Commission; Morton Grove Farmers’ Market; Morton Grove Lion’s Club; Morton Grove Sportsman’s Club; Morton Grove Woman’s Club; Orchard Village; Pathway Center; Ray Graham Association; Shore Training Center; Standing Tall Charitable Foundation; and Turning Point.
