Sonitrol Pacific Audio Detects, Police Arrest, No Entry
Portland, OR, March 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Banging noises caught by Sonitrol Pacific audio sensors led police to arrest one suspected burglar outside a Portland electronics store March 1.
Operator Joseph Orsborn received the activation of Home Video Library Electronics’ audio security system and heard a lot of banging noises. He immediately called Portland Police.
Officers arrived within minutes and found one person outside the store using a screwdriver to try and break the dead bolt lock. Police took the suspect into custody.
According to police, the man cut the power to one side of the building in an attempt to thwart the security system. He then walked to the other side of the store and went to work on the lock with a screwdriver. When police caught him, the man was intoxicated and carrying drug paraphernalia.
The fast police response to Sonitrol Pacific’s early and verified alarm allowed the man to be arrested before he could get inside.
