Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery Host the Edible Festival
Fort Worth, TX, March 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Calloway’s Nursery and Cornelius Nursery will prepare Texans for healthy delights when the garden center hosts the first Edible Festival at all 19 locations in the Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston areas on Saturday, March 6.
On Saturday at 10:15 a.m., all stores will host a free spring vegetable and herb clinic. Throughout the day, other food gardening events will be held including prize drawings from sponsors – Chef Jeff and Blue Label Herbs. Garden gift cards will also be awarded, and garden experts will be available to offer tips and advice.
“Due to the increasing interest in vegetable and herb gardening, we felt a need to help the Texas community prepare by offering our expert advice and a premium selection of products throughout the month,” Kimberly Bird, vice president of retail marketing for Calloway’s Nursery.
The fun will not end with the Edible Festival. Interested gardeners can learn more about edible gardening at the Perennial Swap in April. In June gardeners can reap rewards for their vegetable gardening by entering the annual Chef Jeff Tomato Contest. Details are posted on mytexasgarden.com in the events area.
