Hollister Creative Expands Scope of Custom Educational Publishing Projects to Include Digital Online Delivery
Award-winning producer of print education materials Hollister Creative has expanded offerings to include student learning guides in digital editions for delivery online.
Wynnewood, PA, March 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Long an award-winning producer of print education materials for foundations, corporations, cultural institutions and non-profits, Hollister Creative now writes and designs student learning guides in digital editions for delivery online.
This year, Hollister Creative’s education and public outreach division, Hollister Kids, was chosen by People’s Light and Theatre Company to design theater education materials for delivery to teachers and parents through the People’s Light website. The series of four “Backstage” student learning guides explores the themes and craft of productions in the 2009-2010 People’s Light season and gives teachers and parents materials with which to prepare students for the live theater experience.
The first online guide explored the history and tradition of theater’s panto genre for the People’s Light holiday production of “Snow White.” The second was created to extend the learning of Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” which runs March 3-28. The guide may be viewed and downloaded at http://issuu.com/peopleslight/docs/pl_kinglear_backstage.
The full-color teaching materials were written by the education department of People’s Light under the direction of Nancy Shaw and designed by Hollister graphic designer Gary Brooks. Future guides will be created to accompany the People’s Light productions of Lois Lowry’s “Gossamer,” which runs April 29-May 23, and “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” which runs June 16-July 11.
In addition to the People’s Light project, Hollister Creative has crafted materials for dual use online and in print this year for the Detroit Science Center and for Detroit Newspapers/Michigan K.I.D.S.
A student learning guide for the Detroit Science Center exhibition “The Accidental Mummies of Guanajuato” may be viewed at http://www.detroitsciencecenter.org/educator_guides.html. The weekly Yak’s Corner newspaper Hollister Kids produces for Michigan K.I.D.S. serves Detroit elementary students and can be viewed online at http://www.nieonline.com/detroit/parents.cfm. Hollister also creates weekly online lesson plans to teach academic subjects using newspapers in print or electronic editions. These can be viewed at http://nieonline.com/detroit/lessons.cfm.
