Pensacola, FL, March 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Gulf Coast School of Rock, Pensacola, Florida, has changed its name to Gulf Coast School of Music (www.GulfCoastSchoolofMusic.com) effective immediately, in order to differentiate its unique product from other music schools and communicate that students can learn any type of music, from rock to pop to country to alternative to blues. Gulf Coast School of Music remains located at 1010 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Florida, and features professional musicians teaching guitar, voice, drum and bass lessons to both adult and youth students. Gulf Coast School of Music offers a unique approach to music instruction in Pensacola: students learn both individually and as part of a band. Additionally, the school features a recording studio onsite so that students can learn about music recording and produce their own CDs. All music lessons at Gulf Coast School of Music are taught by professional musicians with years of performing experience, and include guitar lessons, bass lessons, drum lessons, and singing lessons.
“We are changing our name to Gulf Coast School of Music because we are an independent, locally owned music school that is not affiliated with any other music instruction institution,” said Gulf Coast School of Music founder Jim Brown, who also continues to perform live around the Southeast with his band, Big Jim Brown, and has produced four CDs of original music. “We found out that there are other ‘Schools of Rock’ throughout the country, and we don’t want any customer confusion. Plus, we feel like the new name, Gulf Coast School of Music, is more all-encompassing and communicates that our students can learn to play any genre they want, not just rock. At Gulf Coast School of Music, we’re unique because our students learn to play and/or sing and also learn how to work together as part of a band and how to perform. Lessons are a fun mix of individual guidance and group playing. And if students are interested, we can help them write, perform and record original songs. When they’re ready, we hold a live show, and our students perform onstage for their family and friends at a local venue. Preparing for the show teaches them how to plan for a performance, choose songs, rehearse, perform onstage, set up and run the necessary equipment, and promote a show. Perhaps most importantly, they have fun in the process. We recently held our first student show, in February at Seville Quarter in downtown Pensacola, and it was fantastic for both the student performers and their families and friends.”
Gulf Coast School of Music, 1010 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Florida, is open to music students of almost all ages--8 and up--and any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons are customized for each student’s skill and comfort level and are a fun mix of individual guidance and group playing. Students can join Gulf Coast School of Music at any time.
