Free Certificate in Psychology Online Program Now Available
Park Manor Academy of Psychology offers a Certificate in Psychology program. The certificate program is available online and it is free to complete the program.
Pittsburgh, PA, March 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Park Manor Academy of Psychology announced today that its first program, a free online Certificate in Psychology, is now available. After several weeks of work, Dr. William Kelly, proprietor and director of the school announced that “Everything is finally in order and has ‘gone live’ on the school website.” According to Kelly, he essentially re-organized the continuously updated lecture notes he has been using to teach this material over the past 15 years. “I’ve been doing this awhile, and think it’s resulted in a solid ‘product’, for lack of a better term,” stated Kelly.
The certificate program includes general topics that cover several areas in psychology. It is intended as a general overview and introduction to psychology for both novices and individuals who are already proficient with the topic but want to update their content knowledge. Included in the program is an overview of the domains of psychology, basic terminology, concepts, and applications of the materials. “I hope folks can get something out of it and entertain their curiosity,” said Kelly.
There is no fee for the course. Students may view the materials for free and register on the school website: www.parkmanoracademy.com. The materials are openly available for anyone to view. However, for students to be eligible to sit for exams and complete the certificate, they must register on the school website for the program. There is no cost for registering or pursing the certificate. The only cost announced by the school thus far is a $10 fee for printing and mailing graduates’ certificates. When asked about any upcoming price increases or plans to charge additional fees, Kelly indicated that there were no such plans currently. He was optimistic that after several months, there should be enough stability in the school and traffic to its website resulting advertisement revenue that fee adjustments would not be needed for the foreseeable future.
The difficulty-level of the psychology certificate program was estimated at an undergraduate college level. According to the school website, criteria for taking the certificate included only a minimal age requirement of 18 years, fluency in English, and a desire to learn about psychology.
