Assassination City Roller Derby Announces Its First Home Bout of the 2010 Season
This is not a test. This is Assassination City Roller Derby.
Dallas, TX, March 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Assassination City Roller Derby’s 2010 season is in full-swing. On March 20th the league presents its first official home bout with a double-header featuring Special Ops, the league’s all-star team, facing off against the Green Country All Stars and Dirty Little Secret Service taking on the Green Country Thunder Dollz. This bout will be the first opportunity of the season for local fans of Assassination City to catch a glimpse of Special Ops and Dirty Little Secret Service in action on their home turf, so BYOB (no glass), bring your camp chairs and brace for this Cold War era blitz.
The theme for the 2010 season may be Cold War era propaganda, but there is no propaganda involved as Assassination City’s travel team continues to focus on WFTDA rankings. The league’s ultimate goal for the season is competing on a national level against other WFTDA-ranked teams. According to Special Ops team captain, Pyro Maim Ya, “We’ve built a solid roster of capable skaters and I cannot wait to lead our team to victory this year.”
The halftime show will feature live music by Odis and DJ Sista Whitenoise will be spinning all your favorite tunes. And don’t forget the world-famous Assassination City Roller Derby after party directly after the bout, only at Lee Harvey’s (1807 Gould Street, Dallas, 75215).
Tickets to the bout can be purchased in advance for $12 at Pluckers on Greenville and Lovers, HD Tavern in Lewisville, Dad’s Broadway Skateland, or at www.acderby.com, or you can get your tickets at the door for $15. Kids 10 and under get in free. A portion of all proceeds go to benefit www.casaforchildren.org. Doors open at 7pm at Dad’s Broadway Skateland, 3022 Moon Drive, Mesquite, TX 75150.
Established in 2005, Assassination City Roller Derby, Dallas County’s only women’s flat track roller derby league, is a proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. For the 2010 season schedule, please visit www.acderby.com
