The barricades installed in Jyotsna Colony, Chennai, were commissioned by the Inspector of Police on Sunday, 7th March 2010 to increase the security level in the Colony.
Chennai, India, March 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The barricades installed in the Jyotsna Colony were commissioned by Mr. S. Thennarasu, Inspector of Police, during the inauguration ceremony held at 6-00 p.m. on Sunday, 7th March 2010 in the Colony.
Subsequent to the Police-Residents Meet held in Jyotsna in January 2010, in which installation of barricades was discussed, the Committee of Management took up the cause seriously, and immediately initiated steps to install barricades in both the streets leading to Jyotsna. After the installation was complete, an inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday.
The Meeting started with the address of Mr. V. Balasundaram, President of Jyotsna Colony Association, who said that, with the installation of the barricades, the entry of every visitor can be checked by the security personnel, and unwanted elements would hesitate to enter the Colony. “Today is a red letter day in the development of Jyotsna Colony, as the security level of the Colony has increased manifold with the installation of the barricades. And, it is the support and encouragement by the owners and residents, as well as the Police officials, which made this possible” he said.
After the President’s address, Mrs. Pramila Raman, Vice President of Jyotsna Colony, welcomed Mr. S. Thennarasu, Inspector of Police, with a bouquet. Mr. Thennarasu then addressed the gathering. His speech was full of praise for the Jyotsna Colony for taking action in line with the discussions. He further stressed that whatever advice is given by the Police is in the interest of the safety of the lives and property of the residents, narrating a recent incident of theft of gold in Velachery.
It was followed by Mr. Thennarasu formally cutting the ribbon to release the barricade for use, in the presence of Mr. Balasundaram, Mr. P. Ramamoorthi, Secretary, and other residents. Mr. R. Anantharamakrishnan, a Committee Member, drove in the first car, crossing the barricade, after the barricade was commissioned. Sweets and soft drinks were then served to the residents. The meeting concluded after a vote of thanks by Mr. Anantharamakrishnan.
