Michele Hauser Releases Second in Her Crystal Palace Fairy Series, Rebellion in Fairyland, Published by Outskirts Press

Playa Vista, CA, March 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Charmingly illustrated by the author’s ten year old granddaughter, Karina, Rebellion in Fairyland, published by Outskirts Press and the second in Michele Hauser’s Crystal Palace series, is now available both for children’s pleasure and for middle grade teachers looking for an enchanting fantasy complete with classroom reading guides and activities.

Rebellion in Fairyland follows as a sequel in the successful footsteps of Hauser’s first Crystal Palace book, Rescue of the Baby Fairy Prince, and offers middle grade level readers an entertaining story line that also introduces them to the notions of fairness and equality. Hauser, a veteran educator, has made available on her website, www.michelehauserstories.com, a variety of teachers’ aids for the book’s use in an elementary classroom: reader’s theatre scripts, discussion questions, writing prompts, and student activity leaflets.

Rebellion in Fairyland itself starts off with a smooth transition from the reality an evening’s discussion of what Halloween costumes Karina and Katie will wear through to the surprising arrival of a fairy who then transports them via the crystal bedpost into the magical world of Fairyland and the royal celebration of Prince Jeremy’s third birthday. The evening’s festivities are interrupted by explosions outside the palace gates and by angrily protesting ogres, upset about their second class citizenship in Fairyland.

Fairies, trolls, ogres and one insolent and originally misguided fairy princess, Gianna, abound as the narrative proceeds to its culmination of a successfully negotiated Fairyland Magna Carta and a magic waving of Gianna’s wand as she redeems herself by speaking words of peace, love and fairness to all.

The Crystal Palace II, Rebellion in Fairyland, is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/buybooks for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.
