Northeastern University College of Business Administration is Pleased to Announce Date for the 4th Annual Massachusetts Family Business of the Year Awards
Boston, MA, March 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Northeastern University College of Business Administration is pleased to announce that the 4th annual Massachusetts Family Business of the Year Awards program will be held on June 9, 2010.
The awards program, created four years ago in a partnership between Northeastern University's Center for Family Business and The Family Firm Institute New England Chapter, promotes and recognizes some of the great achievements of Massachusetts-based, family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
Nominations and applications are currently being accepted for entry into this year's competition and are available on-line at www.mafba.com. Any Massachusetts-based, family-owned business that includes or included more than one generation is eligible for the award. The awards will be presented again this year at Northeastern University’s Henderson House in Weston, MA on June 9, 2010. The deadline for applications is May 7, 2010. Award winners will be chosen by a panel of independent judges comprised of industry experts, academicians, and peers.
Northeastern University College of Business Administration Dean Thomas E. Moore notes, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to highlight family businesses accomplishments in Massachusetts for the fourth year in a row. Family businesses are an important element of the U.S. economy as they account for roughly 78% of all new jobs, and 65% of wages paid.
"Having solid research and educational programs for family business is a key to their long-term success and we are pleased we are able to support this important segment of the economy.”
Prior Award winners are from a broad spectrum of industries and include Elaine Construction, FIBA Technologies Bernie & Phyl's Furniture, Avedis Zildjian Co., and New England Coffee.
