J.W. Pepper Names Vice President of Communications
Paul Smith assumes role as J.W. Pepper's Vice President of Communications for world's largest sheet music retailer.
Paoli, PA, March 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Paul Smith, most recently the Vice President of Regional Marketing at J.W. Pepper's National Headquarters in Paoli, Pennsylvania, has accepted a new position as Vice President of Communications. In his new role, he will oversee the customer call center and assume a leadership role on the team developing the company's social networking involvement.
In speaking to Smith, he was most excited about providing call center employees with marketing information that will aid them in assisting customers, and conversely, taking feedback from the customer service representatives to build customer-friendly processes. By taking advantage of the explosion of new social media tools, Smith aims to keep Pepper in the forefront of emerging trends, utilizing that information to bring customers the latest and best in music service and products. "I feel my biggest strength is communication," he says.
Smith joined the Pepper organization in July of 1983 and has moved through management to become Vice President of Regional Marketing (Pennsylvania Division). In addition, he is the company National Conventions Coordinator and Percussion Editor. He also regularly speaks on Music Copyright at various music gatherings. He is involved in various staff groups which focus on internal company functions. Of special importance is Pepper's Employee Longevity award program of which he was a creator and original member.
Outside of Pepper, Smith is active in the marching band/indoor percussion pageantry arts area both as a percussion teacher, writer and adjudicator. He is the current Cavalcade of Bands Judging Coordinator. He also performs with the Montgomery County Concert Band, Pottstown Symphony Orchestra as well as in local theater productions and in his church. He resides in Pottstown, PA with his wife and college-age children, who are both pursuing music education degrees.
