Plattform’s Paws for a Cause Raises Funds for The Humane Society
Lenexa, KS, March 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Every dog has its day and, at PlattForm Advertising, that day was filled with perpetual attention, pampering and cash donations.
On. Jan. 25, PlattForm employees gave both time and money to an event benefiting The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. The Paws for a Cause fundraiser at the company’s Lenexa office encouraged employees to participate in a bake sale, silent auction and breakfast buffet to help raise money for homeless pets and related shelter items. One dog available for adoption joined employees during the event to bring a face to local dogs in need.
The event raised $2,000 this year, a 15 percent increase from the total raised during the company’s initial Paws for a Cause event in 2009. In addition to the bake sale, auction and breakfast, the fundraiser included a raffle and photo contests for ugliest, cutest, best-dressed and funniest animal.
While a giving nature is not a prerequisite for PlattForm employees, time and again they support monthly charity events and appreciate the fun of helping local animals.
“This is an event that’s near and dear to my heart,” said Kari Fajen, Senior Account Coordinator, who helped organize the event. “In tough economic times like these, it’s easy to forget about the animals who are out there that need our love and support. Paws for a Cause raises much-needed funds, but it’s also a reminder of the animals who depend on us.”

Paws for a Cause is not the first philanthropic event PlattForm Advertising has promoted. Many employees are interested in uniting their passions for charity. As a result, PlattForm’s philanthropic committee, “Team Phil,” was born. Since 2005, Team Phil has held monthly charity events benefiting organizations throughout the Kansas City area, including The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, TLC for Children and Families, and many more!
