Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Chamber Names Linda Rey of Rey Insurance "Outstanding Member of the Year"
Tarrytown, NY, March 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Annual Awards Breakfast Honors Rey and Others on March 18th at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill.
At this year’s Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Chamber Awards Breakfast, longtime member and Chamber supporter, Linda Rey, will be honored as “Outstanding Member of the Year.” Contributions, most notably her skills as a social ambassador, tireless enroller and event planner, have earned her high praise and recognition among her peers and Chamber leadership.
“Linda does so much for the Chamber,” said Brian Doyle, co-president, Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Chamber. “The networking events that she coordinates from soup-to-nuts have made a significant impact on our ability to attract new and current members, as well as serving as a profit center for the Chamber. Linda has increased attendance at our key networking functions by 200% -- She’s amazing and super-deserving of this award,” added Doyle.
Strong Community Ties and (Social) Networking Instincts Build Business and Generate Interest for Rey Insurance.
Born and raised in Sleepy Hollow, Linda Rey has worked in the insurance profession since 1985, where she began her career working in the family business, The Rey Insurance Agency, Inc.
“Let’s face it, insurance is just not a topic that people get excited about,” says Rey. “I don’t like to hard sell and people don’t want to be sold. I learned early on in my career that making friends, building real relationships, having fun and delivering value are the most effective ways of doing business.”
According to Rey, most of the networking that she does is within Westchester County. Over the past year, she has embraced the advantages of social media so that her ability to connect with current clients and new prospects has grown significantly. “Our web traffic has increased dramatically and I’m reaching people that I would not have met in a face-to-face setting. It allows me to learn and share information about insurance and financial planning – I’m hooked,” adds Rey. Follow Linda on Twitter: @ReyInsurance.
