Boulder, CO, March 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- MD-IT, the nation’s leading provider of medical documentation software and service to ambulatory clinics and physician offices, announced today that it has acquired Burrows Medical Transcription, Inc. (BMT) of Scottsdale, AZ. BMT owner Tim Abrams has joined MD-IT as Managing Director, Arizona. The move underscores MD-IT’s commitment to build a nationwide network to support the efficient use of electronic medical documentation in ambulatory practices.
“We’re excited to expand our services beyond traditional transcription,” said Abrams. “MD-IT is a recognized leader in its use of technology to create electronic records while allowing doctors to complete their work in a way that doesn’t distract from their patient encounters. With MD-IT, we can now offer our clients digital patient records that can be accessed and distributed electronically.”
The new Arizona location expands MD-IT’s business to an area in which it has not previously had a presence.
“MD-IT software and service will help providers in the southwest improve continuity of care to patients who receive care in multiple locations,” said MD-IT president and CEO Tom Carson. “Our system enables clinicians to complete and confidentially share patient records electronically, which is not only an asset to patient care, but also a very important functional requirement to meet meaningful use incentives under Medicare and Medicaid.”
As a founding member of the Medical Data Exchange, MD-IT is at the forefront of medical record technology. The Medical Data Exchange is one of the first Nationwide Health Information Networks in the U.S. and has the ability to distribute clinical notes to a nationwide network of over 2,500 hospitals, 2,700 clinics and 350,000 physicians.
