The "4 Evils of Nutrition" Comes to the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro

Tom Sheehan and LeAnna Brown, owners of Sheehan Personal Training in Foxboro, MA, are proud to announce that their presentation of “The 4 Evils of Nutrition,” will be presented at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro on Tuesday April 6, at 7 PM.

Foxboro, MA, March 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Sheehan and Brown, who are now into the fourth year of business with their training studio, believe that nutrition is the most important component of healthy living. They operate a semi-private training studio where up to three people can be in a session at once, and nutrition plans are built to provide their clients with healthy eating plans that become a permanent part of their diet along with exercise and positive thinking.

In this presentation, Tom Sheehan will address the challenges that Americans face today in choosing foods that not only cause us to gain weight, but also weaken our immune system by not providing the crucial nutrients that our cells require to fight off infections and diseases. Tom will also show why it is difficult to attain the valuable information we need to make informed decisions due to the massive advertising budgets of the companies that are providing the unhealthy food. There are massive amounts of money flowing into the government, and decisions are made at the legislative level that benefit the corporations who are contributing, not the people who our representatives were elected to protect. Tom will demonstrate that it is time for all Americans to take control of their own health, and stop putting blind faith and trust in our government and doctors.

Sheehan, a Certified Nutrition Specialist through the American Academy of Sports Dieticians and Nutritionists (AASDN), had struggled with weight as a child and embraced exercise shortly after graduating from high school in 1982. He is currently studying the effects of nutrition on the prevention and eradication of many diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. He believes that there is a library of information which needs to be shared with the public that will enlighten many people as to the dangers of the processed food that we are eating today. “At one time bloodletting was approved by all leading doctors, so we need to be objective and open-minded when it comes to potential cures for diseases today,” says Sheehan.

Brown, a self-taught expert on organic and whole food nutrition, began studying foods and their effect on us with the birth of her first child in 1993. She started reading labels and doing research on what we were feeding our infants. She soon noticed the symmetry between the advent of the Standard American Diet (SAD) and the many afflictions (mental & physical) that children are suffering from today. From this point on she only purchased organic food and immersed herself in journals and books that would provide her with the highest possible knowledge on how to provide proper nutrition to her family. "I am frankly amazed at people when they tell me they cannot afford organic food. Those same people tend to spend an enormous amount of money on recreation and eating out," Brown says. "The sad part is that when disease sets in, many will consider it simply ‘bad luck,’ when in fact the illness is almost always attributable to improper nutrition and lifestyle.”

Tom and LeAnna have made this presentation several times, most recently at a meeting for the Mansfield chapter of The Massachusetts Women of Today, and for a continuing education seminar for radiation technologists at Brockton Hospital.
