Conspiracy? The Catholic Church Seeks to Hide Yet Another Secret Prophecy

“Unlike 'The DaVinci Code,' which leads you in a wild goose chase… Ray LeCara Jr.'s 'The Forgotten Prophecy' …takes you right to the heart of the problem." --Mario Chavez, author of "The Kids on the Block"

Conspiracy? The Catholic Church Seeks to Hide Yet Another Secret Prophecy
Hartford, CT, November 08, 2006 --(PR.com)-- In his new book, "The Forgotten Prophecy," Ray LeCara, Jr. "...flings his characters full fledged into the realm of the supernatural a la Stephen King," writes David Fortier, the former editor of the Catholic Transcript.  U.K. author Nolene-Patricia Dougan calls "The Forgotten Prophecy" “…a gripping and promising debut," while Tami Brady of TCM Reviews finds LeCara’s book "...believable and chilling!"

LeCara's book, best categorized as prophetic religious horror, addresses the Vatican's long-standing battle against the Evil One amid a warring world lacking faith and rife with corruption. Even worse, a prophetic secret foretold to the Pope in 1967 seems all but lost upon his death thirteen years later. But as the events of this secret begin to unfold in a small Connecticut town, it’s unclear whether these events are the workings of a madman or part of a prophecy that could bring about the end of the Church and, ultimately, Mankind.

Explains LeCara, “On the surface, 'The Forgotten Prophecy' is nothing more than a story that uses past historical events and religious symbolism to achieve its goal of spooking the reader, but there are a number of layers to the story depending on how you approach it.”

In the early 90s, LeCara, a Language Arts teacher and former religious education coordinator, was frustrated with the growing number of Church scandals. This, his reading of Dostoevsky's The Grand Inquisitor, and the viewing of a documentary on Nostradamus following the 1993 Twin Towers bombing were all inspirations for him to begin committing to paper his macabre tale of unlikely heroes drawn together to save the world from a forgotten evil. But the lines blur between what is real and what is fiction thanks to characters who are “…true to life and believable.” Reviewer Bob Medak of All Book Reviews also writes, “Ray LeCara has studied his subject well… and gives a good account of the workings of the Catholic religion.”

According to LeCara, "The protagonists of the novel are struggling with painful parts of their past that have gone on to affect them in a very profound way, and like many of us, they're even more troubled by the growing chaos and tumult they see occurring in the world. This story explores how individuals process events seemingly beyond their control or explanation. At the same time, the story also explores the nature of evil.”

A 1993 English major graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Ray LeCara, Jr. completed his Master’s in Philosophy in August of 2006. A thirteen-year educator, he currently teaches writing and literature in a Connecticut middle school, and has already begun working on a sequel.
