New Children's Book: Mrs. Gowing's Kindergarten. A Fun Story Book About Going to School.
Vancouver, WA, March 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Pattie Gowing, owner of The Portland Preschool Directory, has written a delightful book about going to kindergarten. Mrs. Gowing’s Kindergarten is filled with colorful illustrations by an aspiring young illustrator, Lydia vonderLuft. Also included in the book are illustrations by Mrs. Gowing’s kindergarteners.
Max is going to kindergarten, and he’s a little worried. What will kindergarten be like? Mrs. Gowing helps him discover how fun kindergarten can be. She plays games with him, protects him on the playground, and makes sure he knows he is special. Written from her experience as a kindergarten teacher’s aide, this book is a wonderful introduction to a child’s first year of elementary school.
About the Author:
Pattie Gowing is has worked with children for 25 years. She was born in Portland, Oregon and still lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and youngest daughter. She is currently writing her next Mrs. Gowing book.

About the Illustrator:
Lydia lives in the beautiful Northwest State of Washington with her father, mother, and eight siblings. There, as well as keeping up with a full school schedule, she enjoys a myriad of other activities. From playing the piano or Celtic harp and volunteering at the local orchestra to going snowboarding on Mt. Hood and caring for her herd of Nubian goats, Lydia is always eager to learn something new so long as it is glorifying to God. Her latest interests include pyrography, knitting, and cycling. Most of all, besides spending time with her family and friends, Lydia loves to curl up beside a fire with a blanket, a big cup of tea, and a good book.
