Temecula Landscape Designer Earns Second Place for Water Conservation Design

Temecula, CA, March 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Vintage Design & Landscape Construction of Temecula, California earned second place for their water conservation landscape design and installation at the 34th Orange County Home and Garden Show held at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds on March 20-21, 2010.

Porras explains that there is actually an enormous selection of indigenous shady trees that over thousands of years have adapted to California’s unique environmental conditions. These plants have learned to flourish despite not having a lot of water. Trees such as the California Oak that provides year long shade and green requires little water to survive.
Technology includes innovative and cost effective irrigation systems that are tied to the water district as well as satellite weather monitors that irrigate the land based upon existing weather conditions.
Porras, who earned a master’s degree in plant science and completed his thesis on water savings in table grapes, is one of only a handful of landscape contractors in the Riverside county area who is trained in applying water saving techniques for lawns.
