Pacific Ridge School Upper and Middle School Students Compete, Rank in San Diego Science Olympiad Competition

From Bottle Rockets to Trajectories, Students Presented Visual Demonstrations of Projects on Carlsbad Campus.

San Diego, CA, March 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Pacific Ridge School (www.pacificridge.org), an independent, non-profit school in Carlsbad that fosters academic excellence, ethical responsibility and global engagement to prepare students for college and a purposeful life, competed for the second consecutive year in the regional Science Olympiad, a nationally organized competition in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering and related areas. Pacific Ridge School fielded 10 middle school teams and placed 10th overall in the competition. Fifteen upper school teams competed and placed 9th overall.

On Wednesday, March 17, students had the opportunity to demonstrate their Science Olympiad projects. The school gathered on the athletic field for the event and students rotated to eight different stations to view Science Olympiad competition entries.
